they have over a trillion yen in the bank and it keeps rising sooo....

They had 931 billion yen in cash and cash equivalents at the end of fiscal year 2009.  As of fiscal year 2012, that is down to 469 billion yen.  While that is up from the previous year, the gains are from investing activites and exchange rate change.  Their operating activites were a net decrease.

That is quite the drop...

Judging by their current financial situations, Sont dies before Nintendo.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I`m a Nintendo gamer. If their franchises disappeared, i would barely play anything new. There aren`t many 3rd party franchises i like or care about and i don`t know if i`d buy a console just to play them.
I`d probably replay old games and some i never played.

Smartphones were also supposed to put 3DS down and if you look at sales, even if they are less than DS at same point in time, it`s doing very, very well, without signs of losing it`s flame.
Wii U is doing bad for the mistakes Nintendo made. And none of those include mobile gaming.
It`s funny how some claim casuals aren`t loyal but at the same time claim they will never return to Nintendo consoles because of the cheap games... are they loyal or not? To me, not even the core are as loyal as people think. Just look at gaming history.

Personally i dont see it happening any time in my lifetime. They are still in good profit and that is what matters.

IF it were to happen i might actually get around to playing some games in my steam library!
I would just stick to my PC though - MMO and competitive strategy games is where its at,

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

I predict one more home console effort and at least two more handhelds before they become an exclusive developer for either Sony or Apple.

With all the gloom and doom it seems that Nintendo is crashing down, or so people say. The pressure from smartphones and tablets are said to be the final nail in the coffin for Nintendo's handheld. Also the Wii U is doing very bad...

So when is this going to happen? When is is that Nintendo will die for good? And what would you doo if it was true?

Personally I wouldn't spend as much money on gaming... I would slowly quit gaming forever.

I thought that the final nail in the coffin was for Apple to enter the console race.
So many "final nails" that I've read, but I have yet to see a coffin for Nintendo. Not while they have their loyal fanbase.

I have faith that Nintendo will come out of this but the Doom this days is heavy...
