Forums - Sony - PSVITA.TV just announced!!!

lol, I'm not sure "superficial" is the word you are looking for. I missed that in the video: it went by very quickly. I'll fix the mistake now.

Soul Sacrifice perhaps wasn't the best example, as that mostly used the touchscreen for interface. I am just going by what Sony itself said, and it said Vita TV won't be playing games that require the original Vita's features. SS requires touchscreen use for menu navigation and collecting tears, so it seemed like a safe assumption.

This thing DEFINITELY won't be playing Tearaway though, which is the Vita's killer app this holiday. So my issue with a lack of compatibility still stands.

I don't see it selling huge numbers, but it's certainly cool. Could help the Vita out bit.

It's an idea that honestly seems something more up Nintendo's alley.

I imagine it wasn't really an option for the 3DS. Blowing up a 240p image onto a large TV would look pretty aweful o.o The Vita can mostly get away with it.

PS1 is 240p, imagine PS1 games unfiltered in 42 inch TV.

....a S**t!

I wouldn't watch that!

@nuckles87 you are right but there is still hope, BTW I don't see the problem this holiday season for Tearaway because....PSVitaTV won't be out of japan for sure at that time.

ps:sorry for saying you were superficial.

Persona 5 on PS3, I won't need next gen!

I liked the idea, and then I read:

Kinda kills any interest I had in the console, really.

Two years ago, I desperately wanted a way to play PSP games on a TV screen. I debated getting a 2000 model which you could output onto your TV; but decided against it.

This literally fills that gap. And yet, after actually trying handheld gaming, I think I prefer it to playing on a TV screen now. Whoops.

The fuck? So, it's basically useless. Why not give incentive to buy both a VITA and VITA TV by allowing games that need the unique VITA controls to be played on it with the VITA as the controller? If they did that, I would buy both.

I'm not saying Tearaway has the problem, I'm saying the Vita TV has the problem because it can't play it. And I wasn't offended, I was just saying you used the word incorrectly. The word you were probably looking for was ignorant or misinformed. I wasn't judging the Vita by how it looks (it is actually pretty sexy looking) or how it presents itself outwardly, I was just saying something out of ignorance. Being superficial is saying the 2DS is terrible because it LOOKS ugly and uncomfortable.

Edit: Oh wow....it can't play Wipeout? Or UNCHARTED? Wow...

As a PS4 extender, this has a lot of potential. Outside of that, it doesn't look as though it does anything other than play PSV games and provide Remote Play for PS4. Though this makes the remote play requirement for PS4 games now much more understandable.

ePSXE makes all Playstation games look beautiful again.

So Sony does bring a console smaller than the PSTwo after all...

I don't know, I already have a Vita so there's not really a need for such a device. On the other hand, it's just 99 $, so wth, I might buy it sometime just because it's cheap. Maybe it will work with the DualShock 4 sometime in the future, which would allow most touchscreens games to work. Or just use a Vita as a controller. Kinda pointless, but it would work and would still be cheaper than a Wii U.

In the end, it's nice to have options. It would be bad if they stopped making the original Vita, but since they aren't, everything's cool. The low price point will definitely help to push sales of the Vita.

Prediction: Sales... will improve... a little... I am not so sure this is going to help them much. I don't quite grasp the idea of the device.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

they might let's you play with ps vita portable as a controller.
so  PS Vita (controller) to play PS Vita on the PS Vita TV, PS Vita TV to play on the TV.
LOL (I'll still buy that )

I wonder if PS Vita TV will finally get reviewers to understand that Vita games shouldn't be treated as home console games.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
