It started out great, slowed up a bit in chapter 2, reached it's high point in chapter 3, then went downhill for me.
It didn't help that I experimented with different decisions and quickly found out that choice doesn't matter much at all. The game keeps making sometimes less believable turns (depending on what little sub path you took previously) to get back on the narrow main path.
I played it without the hype and loved it. You may want to avoid that second playthrough, though. The game does a great job of giving you the feeling that every choice you make matters but that isn't really the case.
