Hmm, if they bundled it with the PS4, do you guys think it would be a game changer?

I'm still not sure exactly what it does yet.

It plays Vita games on a TV and allows you to remote play PS4 games on another TV without having your PS4 hooked up.

So I'm guessing the Vita hardware is inside of this? Considering the UI was there and everything? Interesting...

Though I must say, it looks better than I expected. Still don't see a major market for it, but good for those who will enjoy it.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

PSVita tv is actually smart. They're turning the system into a super cheap home console, which should hopefully boost software sales for Vita. I can see a lot of people picking this up before and maybe buying a Vita at a later date. Either way, vita owners win if it means we get more software down the line as a result.

It showed people playing local multipayer, I wonder how it will deal with that. I'd love to play splitscreen dissidia and soul sacrifice on the couch.

Allows you to enjoy the entire PSP/PS VITA/PS ONE/PS2 library at a lower entry price and on the big screen.

It's literally $100.

At that price with those apps and features it BLOWS Apple TV and other media boxes away...I'm for sure getting one for my secondary rooms, I mean it's only 100 bucks...

That's if it ever hits the west tho :<

He mentioned global launch and that it starts in Japan or something. It's coming :)

PS Vita TV + PS4 bundle at $500.

So in trade for kinect I get an entire new console?

Bet.

I think Andrew House just killed the PS Vita in the Western Market.

How so? More Japanese support means more Japanese buyers. Westerners who buy the PSP generally buy eastern supported titles.

I was talking about the PS Vita TV thing. Now people don't have a reason to buy a PS Vita.

So are Vgchartz gonna count PS Vita TV as a new console or add it to the Vita sales is the question.

Yep..this is some really good thinking. They just need to nail the price in the west. This is essentially a PSPGo like situation but with a very unique approach.

I don't get the use for this.... You can do remote play via PS4 and Vita already so what does the Vita tv do??

for example you can have the PS4 at your main TV and the Vita Tv on a TV in a different room and stream over the PS4 game you want to play

But surely you have to already have a Vita for this to work, right? So with this and the Vita, you wouldn't be far off just getting another PS4 and enjoying all the features.

no, the VitaTV itself is a fully functioning PS Vita

Hmm, fair enough. It'll kill Vita sales moreso than they are now, ofcourse, but it seems pretty snazzy.

I could leave the PS4 at home, take this to Uni and be well away! If it remains at £100 ofcourse.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. This is basically sony selling a vita with video out + some additional features but cutting the cost of the screen etc. This is essentially, in a way, a new vita model. I think it's great and out of the box thinking for a change.
