Forums - Nintendo - BrokenGamezHD responds to Bethesda Bonus Round statements about Nintendo

I do agree with some of his points but he can't be serious when he said that third parties aren't to blame for Nintendo's position (and maybe for Sony's and MS's as well but that's another story).

Yes Nintendo screwed up with their relationships with third parties (starting with the N64), and they haven't really tried their best in getting them to release games on their hardware; But how can third parties not get the blame for this also?

This isn't really all their fault since they're a company that is more so stuck in the past due to an ever changing industry with much different ideologies and viewpoints; which they themselves don't want to embrace (save for digital distribution and their idea of putting e-shop on smart phones and tablets).

I think the reason Nintendo isn't really doing anything about third parties is because of their (like I said) ever changing ideologies and view points that Nintendo doesn't want to agree with. Aside from the guy's (Bethesda) suggestion that Nintendo needs to be more involved with third parties (which I agree) with their hardware and what not, it seems that ninty doesn't want to go down that path of making bigger stronger hardware knowing that, that kind of endeavor will break their bank in the long run even if third parties have been asking for it.

Nintendo is a dedicated video game hardware/software manufacturer first and foremost. If they were to ever change, then Nintendo wouldn't be Nintendo anymore. & That's why I think is the reason, like he said, is why they're stubborn. They just don't want to go follow everyone else's way of thinking.

The poiint being CORE games just doesn't mean FPS, there is lots of key games Nintendo gamers are missing out.

That is why I've always played on the PC and consoles.  Now that I only buy Nintendo hardware if I really wanted a 3rd party game I could probably pick it up on the PC.  If not then oh well because I've got plenty of other games to play.

Nintendo do what they think is best for themselves as a company to maximize their own profits. If they went the way that 3rd parties wanted them to, it could be catastrophic. I have said it before, Nintendo could have the best hardware available, everthing 3rd parties need, but still wouldnt sway fans of rival companies to jump ship. They have their own stance on Nintendo and nothing would change that. Having hardware that is cheaper to produce, profitable (or possibly breaking even) and huge first party software sales will always be Nintendos bread and butter.

I just wanted to quote you to say you had a nice post.  My train of thought is pretty inline with yours.
