Forums - Gaming - 3DS vs. Vita. Comparison(opinion) and Buyer's Guide.

Which do you think is better?

Vita 78 32.77%

PSX 12 5.04%

PS2 24 10.08%

PS3 34 14.29%

360 8 3.36%

Genesis 14 5.88%

Saturn 9 3.78%

Dreamcast 27 11.34%

Atari 2600 13 5.46%

Not a Nintendo console. 19 7.98%

Total:238

I can´t say I´m surprised. But to put it mildly I really can´t take anyone serious that says all Kart games are bad besides CTR and Chocobo Racing on PSX.

As an opinion piece, this is fine. You have a clear preference and you articulate your feelings well, even if they are a bit contradictory. But this is a poor buyer's guide. Many of these games you've never played and you toss in things like "some lame garbage like Mario Kart Wii." A buyer's guide should point consumers to the systems and games they enjoy, not force a point-of-view onto those consumers.

For example: If you like a wide selection of indie titles and already subscribe to PS+, go for a Vita. If you're into 2D platformers and Nintendo first-party software, 3DS might be the right choice.

NOT: If you like all these bad-ass, awesome games, then buy a Vita. If you like garbage like Mario Kart, I guess buy a 3DS.

Also, Resident Evil Revelations and Retro City Rampage are both terrific games :P

so you leave out many 3DS games and include unreleased Vita games. never thought Sony fans would go that low -.-

"3DS - Super Street Fighter 4, and Dead or Alive Dimensions.

Vita - Street Fighter x Tekken, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat, Blaz Blue Continuum Shift Extend, and Dead or Alive 5 Plus."

you can add blazblue continuum shift II and Tekken Prime Edition to the list of 3ds games.

There is no point in what you ask:

BB CS2 3ds was a psp port and of course a psp game playable on vita, it cannot count as a plus for 3ds (it should be a minus since 3ds didn't get the newer game.)

Tekken Prime (sorry for being superficial here) I've heard they recycled engines, assets, some stuff from Tekken 6 PSP, also Tekken 6 can be played on PS Vita (not same as tekken prime but considering tekken prime a plus isn't right in my opinion.

ps: some PS Vita games are very original and new in my opinion, and I think vita games are very cheap compared to 3ds games (are all 3ds games avaiable on download? Prices for DD vita games went down and is nice.)

Persona 5 on PS3, I won't need next gen!

Oh please, alot of those Vita games in the OP are ports too.

so you want in the list:

3DS: BlazBlue CS2

PS Vita: BlazBlue CS2

a plus for ps vita and a plus for 3ds, very little change in my opinion in this COMPARISON.

I'm sorry i don't understand the point of your post. A buyer's guide should list a good spread of games - i don't want to participate in some arbitrary console war bullshit. i just wanted to acknowledge that BB and tekken are good fighters to buy for the 3DS - nothing more and nothing less. It seems that everything must be pulled into a dick measuring contest in gaming discussion

So why can't you include DS games if you're going to put in PSP games?  That's where your argument falls apart.

Because you talked about games for chosing one system over the other one, that game is the same on each platform.

I simply said that game you like is ALSO on ps vita and of course is the same. Sorry I shouldn't have said nothing about Tekken.

I included a psp game because you said it was a good game for buying the 3ds for, and it's not! Sorry but vita wasn't there at that time.

Have a nice day, I stop now.

I think you're confusing me with someone else.  I didn't say anything about it being a good game to buy (in fact, when I mentioned the other fighting games to the OP, I specifically stated the problem).
