That's why I say "for the money", if you compare it to a $125 AMD, the Intel would be the preferred choice. You asked lol.

or Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Allendale 2.2GHz with 800Mhz @ $125 Sorry. But I don't see the savings and this was the cheapest dual core Intel. |
the E4500 was released 2 years ago. Its outdated just like all of AMD's processors.
Looks like I might have to build your rig for you. Max your willing to spend minus monitor (as one isnt listed in your above list) ?
AMD has lost it's ars since the Core 2 duo was released in the processor market. The 9900 Phenom wont even stand a chance vs the E8400 and it will be $80 more expensive.
ok, I'm wrong I found two Pentium class dual cores for about $75 but, both have lower bus speeds and are clocked 1.6 and 1.8Ghz. But, they do have larger Cache.
Still, don't see how this is better than what I have picked.
I've been building pc's for a long time. Intel vs. AMD has always cycled since AMD got in the market. Currently, Intel offers the best bang for the buck. This is the first time that Intel has had it this way since the highly over-clockable Celeron 300. But the Core Duo's stomp on AMD's current offerings. I'd suggest browsing over to Tom's Hardware Guide for some up to date comparisons.

Remember that Mhz is not the only thing important for performance.
Changed my CPU to the 4800 AMD X2 instead. For $15 it has a nice bump in ability.
