With the announcement that we will be able to select a Kanto starter instead of a Kalos starter, I was curious to see which way people would go. Are you going to use one of the new starter pokemon, or one of the old? 

I thought you need to choose one from the new and later one old.

I heard we were getting both, but if we have to pick, obviously Kanto! Blastoise man!!

I want my Bulbasaur!!

If I were getting this game, I'd play a starter from the Kanto region. Even without the announcement of mega pokemon and what not, it wouldn't have made a difference. I'm more of an old school trainer than anything else.

If I could get my FIRST TEAM:

Bulbasaur
Weedle
Spearow
Magicarp
Magnemite
Vulpix

..... (they will evolve of course) I'd be one happy trainer.
