Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One Pre-orders Break All Microsoft Records, Up 200% in Europe Since GamesCom

Xbox One pre-orders have re-written records in Microsoft History Book, according to VP Marketing, Strategy And Business Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft has sold out of our pre-order supply faster than at any other time in our history and we are on path to have the biggest launch of an Xbox ever

Yusuf further revealed that Xbox One pre-orders have gone up 200 percent in Europe since GamesCom 2013. If you can recollect properly, it was at GamesCom that Microsoft announced all Xbox One Day Pre-orders in Europe will get a free copy of FIFA 14.

Seeing this tremendous response, Microsoft has made available more Xbox One Day One Editions, following retailer shortages.

"As a result of this incredible consumer demand and the development progress on Xbox One, I am thrilled to share that today we are making available a limited number of additional Xbox One Day One consoles for pre-order," Mehdi added. "We have coordinated with our retail partners to make it easy for you to reserve your Xbox One today."

Good, this should reduce the ratio from 3-1 to 2-1.

Or even much less since it wasn't even 2:1 anymore!

Means very little unless we know what the actual numbers are, its like when Wii U sales in UK increase by 875% after the X1 reveal.  It didn't do much because the numbers were still very small.

up by 200% is 1-1

Doesn't really mean much at all. In fact, them still avoiding directly addressing Sony's claim of "over 1 million" with numbers of their own makes me more worried than reassured.

Percentages don't mean anything when you don't know the actual number in the first place

+ is it 200% increase in total orders or 200% increase in the number of orders weekly?

You do realize that they don't have to beat Sony's launch in order to have a successful launch, just like 3rd place this gen isn't really a bad thing. If everyone sells well then everyone wins.

You can stop worrying.

Dat Fifa bundle is working its magic.

Both PS4 and One consoles will be head to head in sales this upcoming generation.
Bottom line is being profitable anything less and one of them will be getting out of the console industry.

I'm guessing you are using VGChartz pre-order numbers which are US only. I don't think we have any idea what the Europe numbers are.
