You dissapoint me. WayForward is a good small developer that has faithfully supported Nintendo platforms for a very long time, and Shantae: Risky's Revenge is DSiWare most critically-acclaimed game.

Thats all, really? They are the best Classic 2D Platformer developers out there. Not being stuck under a huge publisher also allows them to create some awesome new IPs. dont undersell WayForward =P


I shouldn't have to sell WayForward at all. Their work speaks for itself.

This looks interesting. However, I'll just wait for it to release, evaluate it and buy it if it looks awesome.

Only a decade old. More recent than Pikmin.

Four. The first was for Game Boy Color (released in 2003), and was re-released on the 3DS Virtual Console. The second, Risky's Revenge, was released on DSiWare in 2010 and was later ported to iOS. The third, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, is in development for 3DS eShop and will be released by the end of this year.

The fourth, Half-Genie Hero, the game this thread is about, is the fourth game and the first HD entry. The release date hasn't been set but I'm thinking it'll be finished sometime late 2014.


Thanks, im playing the 3DS one (the first one i guess), and im having a blast. Very good game with interesting and original mechanics 


The second one is also available on 3DS if you're interested. :) Most, if not all DSiWare games are.

Damn now i don´t know wich game i bought (and my brother has the 3ds now to go and check).  
The first "dungeon" was a water maze.. wich game is it?

That's fine. I'm personally backing this project because I want WayForward to take my money and put it towards a Scrooge McDuck-esque swimming vault.

I would care if there would be a physical release, but since there probably won't be I'm not interested.  The footage does look good though.

I could be convinced to kick in $5, and maybe a touch more if it's succeeded before its deadline.

Wayforward needs encouragement. If i had some time, i could be convinced to buy some of their games...

(Edit: Beyond Adventure Time: Hey Ice King Why'd You Steal Our Garbage, which is pretty cool, though over-reliant on a new game plus to provide challenge)
