Sony's fall lineup says hell no.

That's not true. PS3 was ahead for 2010 and 2011, even before adjustments. It also sold more from Nov-Dec 2012 iirc before adjustments. |
No, before adjustment the 360 won those years. I remember well the treads. And, if I´m not wrong, Don Matrick said at 2011 E3 that "the 360 was the leading platform in the world last year".
But, again, we can´t have certainty. The way VGChartz has been making the magic with PS3 number outside US/EUR and Japan is just another complicating factor.

This. It's all about the games.

Yes but the holiday season, xbox always closes the gap by a significant margin. I'm saying that the amount that it is ahead right now, not for the calender year. If they do a big price drop, I'm sure the system is going to sell very well. We will see.

Yes but Xbox can drop to $100 if they really wanted.

Isn't the New Xbox 360 slim they showed at E3 is $100?
Ajescent said: 2 things about this thread make me laugh 1: Not so long ago, the question was always the other way around (i.e can the ps3 catch the 360) and the answer on here was always a resounding no. 2: it seems awfully convenient that the sales from the current gen magically don't matter anymore. |
the fact that I brought it up gives it relevance. It's so close together that I don't think anyone saw how close sales would be for this gen. Almost exactly the same.

I agree, I think the price of the console is going to have more of a effect then games at this point. The games are already out there.
So I think MS is going to have to drop price. MS Drop it to $100 permanently. This will slam system's out the door.
Xbox 360 will sell much more this holiday season. But do not think ahead to Ps3. Shame. Still takes 8 years as leader.
