I've been saying the same things, especially that I could tell this game was going to be bad after the first reveal.

Some of the defenses that keep getting used in here are making me feel like I'm taking crazy pills lol. Listen, everyone stop saying "glitches can be fixed since they have (less than) 2mos left of development time". GLITCHES ARENT THE PROBLEM, AND THEY ARENT IGN'S MAIN CRITICISM, EITHER! It's the gameplay!

I defended Ryse several weeks ago when ppl were picking at some bad glitches. GLITCHES can be fixed prior to launch. Inherently bad gameplay and mechanics cannot.

In the defense of XB fans, this is the first time I think I've seen them hype a game that I saw and felt so obviously looked mediocre or bad. Sony/PS fans that do this more often. But I've learned to trust my gut about bad games, bc its proved right in many circumstances despite the majority claiming the opposite. And I trust my gut with Ryse, as well, telling me its going to be mediocre at best.

GoW combat is quite deep.

Yeah I mean people bring up this article to defend this game, and I think it's the first time they are on IGN and never heard about Ryan Mccafrey before, he's as objective regarding anything Xbox as Greg Miller is regarding inFamous or Colin Moriarty regarding Resistance.

You remember the reception for Lair on the PS3? That's a good estimation for where Ryse will end up.

WOW Lair was a terrible game... unplayable.

I knew this game would bomb.

Heres the real problem, the games been hyped up so much by fans that they'll buy it even if it sucks and the good sales will end up causing a sequel, or worse, a continuing franchise.
This game to me is the Xbox ones lair / heavenly sword on rails

I still have Forza, DR3, and KI to play along with all the third party games I want. Not a shortage of games.

Halo got radically changed during development (it was going to be an RTS of sorts) and it turned out to be great for it's time.

Typical shitty Vgc thread. Right from the start of the thread (OP) to all the fanboyish comments.

OP could have avoided a lot of this if the title of the thread was more accurate from the start. It should have just been IGN: Ryse Multiplayer Impressions. Why on earth "atrocious" was used in the thread title to describe the game as a whole is beyond me. Hell MP wasnt even in the title initially.

And then to make things worse people dont even read the OP and assume that IGN actually made those comments...and 3/10? Where the hell did that come from? That sure as hell was not in the video.

This was a quick discussion between two guys from IGN who just played the MP of Ryse and had some bad things to say about the experience. They were still pretty optimistic about the SP. That was all.

Now every second comment is all about how Crytek is a known shitty developer...last time i checked they have a pretty dam good record of late. Crysis, Crysis 2, Crysis 3 all good games in their own right.

And then the stupid comments from people who just disregard the complaints that are obviously legit. "Why don't they say the same about God Of War!?!?!"

Seriously guys is this the community you want to be involved in? Is this what you want Vgchartz to be like?
