If it drops to 99 dollars during the holiday season, it may have a massive effect on holiday sales. Buying a console for a Benjamin is super tempting to anyone, even if it's poorly designed.

tbh before this was news i thought maybe 16mil-17mil by years end (my prediction came from Jan so yeahhh). but only if this is a hit it might do anywhere from 2mil-4mil (hopefully 2mil )

$130 is a great price. I think it will be a huge impact.

We've already decided to buy one for my son, it will be something I can have faith that he won't destroy like our previous 3DS. 3 year olds, go figure.

I think they probably learned (from surveys?) that the 3DS / XL models are

1) still too expensive for many parents (they are! Most expensive Nintendo handheld ever, by far),

2) parents are confused about 3D health warnings, and

3) they probably get a lot of complaints about broken hinges.

It's not poorly designed; you see, with the single-slab design of the 2DS, the money that it prints won't come out folded.
