Very true, the price cut+holiday 2011 gave a huge boost for 3DS but 2012 was kinda lackluster in terms of big software releases. Japan had alot but im the west there wasnt a whole lot outside of Kid Icarus, Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, NSMB2, Paper Mario and the XL which actually raised the price. Those are all great but not enough for an entire year. 2013 on the other hand consists of Fire Emblem, Luigis Mansion, Lego City, DKC Returns 3D, Monster Hunter 3, Animal Crossing, Mario & Luigi, Pokemon, Zelda, Mario Party and the 2DS which reduces the price by $40. So essentially double the amount of high selling releases and a reduction in price.

So far it looks like 2014 for Wii U is going to be more similar to 3DS 2013 rather than 2012. It has Mario Kart, Smash Bros, X, Yarn Yoshi, Bayonetta, SMTxFE, 3rd Sonic game and likely a few more surprises which could be Zelda, Wii Sports, the rumored Pokemon fighting game and maybe 1-2 more collaborations with 3rd parties.

Basically I see Wii U having a very good 2014. 2015 could be great as well with a price cut to $199, games like Mario Universe, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Kirby and who knows what else. Even if Wii U doesnt win this generation in total sales, it should be competitive with PS4/One for a few years.

price cut to 200$? that's crazy.

BTW, you won the bet, i posted on your profile and you didn't reply :P

technically wii u is 250 + 50 of the bundled game. in 2015 they could forfeit the bundled game profits and lower the price another $50 and it magically becomes 199.

I don't think the pricecut is going to help the Wii-U much at all, maybe the first few weeks a bit. An unappealing system at $350 is still unappealing at $300.

yeah, because there's nothing releasing right after the pricecut, oh wait!

yeah, but i don't think Nintendo would sell it for that cheap this soon,to be honest, especially since consoles like the PS3 took 7 years to go that low :P

I would agree with u if there werent any big games coming out around the same time.

Mario 3D World, DKC Tropical Freeze, Wii Fit U, Wii Party U all belong to series that sell over 5 million

Sonic Lost World, Wind Waker HD, Mario & Sonic Olympics can sell a couple million

All the third party multiplats are a nice little bonus and already released games like NSMBU, Lego City, Game & Wario, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 could all get a boost.

Factor in holiday deals and bundles and Wii U will have a good end to this year.

Not the same at all. PS3 released for $600 and at a $200 loss. Wii U released at $350 at a small loss.

Quit acting as if these games are gona make Wii U start winning this generation, GameCube and N64 had them as well and they didnt do shit to stop Nintendo from getting obliterated by Sony and even Microsoft.

who said anything about winning the gen? he said the console was unapealing at any cost, with the games slated for this year and next the console becomes apealing for many.

When did Microsoft obliterate Nintendo? Xbox-25m vs Gamecube-22m is pretty close and in no way obliteration, Wii-100m vs 360-80m so Microsoft vs Nintendo is tied 1-1.

2015 isn't soon. and wii u released for less than those consoles, it's only natural that it will reach that price earlier.
