Reports that Xbox One's shipment forecast for 2013 has been cut from seven million to 6.2 million units because of poor yield rates are inaccurate, Microsoft's senior director of product management and planning Albert Penello has told VG247.

Chinese publication Economic Daily News reported that Microsoft is struggling with yield rates for the Kinect camera, optical disc drive and assembly.

But that isn't the case, claims Penello.

"That report is incorrect. We have not lowered shipping volumes, and are actually seeing better than expected yields from our silicon," explained Penello.

"We just returned from Gamescom where we showed the overwhelming majority of content on Xbox One near-final hardware. We also just rolled out a widespread employee beta and remain on track for a November launch this year."

lol they were never that high to begin with. No way their putting out that ridiculous 6.5m or 10m in 2013 as was rumored.

Now if that is there full fiscal year goal, that's different and more likely.

Doesn't Microsofts fiscal year 2013 end in June 2014?... could mean for then.

6.5 mln from launch through June is more than XB/PS3 managed... in fact it's right in the middle betwen Wii (9.27m) and Wii U (3.61m)

do you actually think MS would go out and say we are having trouble with shipments and manufacturing? that would be a PR suicide, specially after how everybody is afraid of another RRoD. if they utter the words "manufacturing problems" the internet will go crazy. 

I wouldn't think they would go out of their way to keep saying there isn't any issue if their weren't. Albert Penello has been saying for weeks on GAF that they don't have any issues or set backs. Now he is going to another website to give them the same info.

especially when the reason given is worst than having supply issues.. but people like to say big corp are out to get them and love to lie to them to achieve it... because we all know successful business is built upon lies...

of course they have to, they need to reassure the people that everything is OKAY! also these rumors have been around for a while, they keep resurfacing so every time they need to say no. the voice command excuse for releasing in 13 countries instead of 21 was proved to be bullshit by supporting just 5 languages. there is something going on and there are rumors, from sources who proved to be right before that say are infact problems and other than MS's PR people saying otherwise there isnt anything to show that there is infact many stock being produced.

now ask me, do i think that there will be another RRoD fiasco? certainly not. but why is it so hard to believe that there is limited supply? most console launches suffer from this, why is it so unbelievable that the xbox one will suffer from it too?
