How is it doublethink? Demanding something from God and making assumptions about how God dishes out the blessings has nothing to do with each other really.

If we're talking about being arrogant, I think those two things have everything to do with each other. You think God is an all-supreme infinitely wise being, yet you still think you're wise enough to know what he does or how/why he does it? If that's not being arrogant, I don't know what is really...

Just because something is depressing doesn't mean that it's not real.
Also, I like to think that death gives life meaning. Were death, in the truest sense, to not exist, we wouldn't have any reason to enjoy life, as it were.
At any rate, as with God, the burden of proof is on the claimant to prove that something exists after death. So, yep.

I believe you, like so many, misunderstood predestination. Both predestination and free will working side by side is in the NT.
Psalms 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."
If you do not believe in God, then you are a fool. No sense in going on. Try to disprove His existence, try to disprove the Bible, I dare you, and not through some stupid comments on a website, do it yourself. Try to prove it is all bull, go ahead because you cannot. One day you will find out that it is true, I just pray that you find out before it is too late.
There is one God, and there is only one way to Him, His son Jesus Christ.
I personally do not care what you believe or what I believe because truth is not determine on what you and I believe, truth is truth wether you believe it or not. that's like saying that just because you're talking about someone who is able to do any math problem, that you can't figure out how he does a few of the simpler problems without it being arrogance.
that's a lot different then demanding that person do your math homework for you, simply because he can do any math problem. That's arrogance.

The only thing I'll add is that, if you do believe in God and it turns out that there is none, what have you lost? On the other hand, if you don't believe in God and it turns out there is one, you're screwed.
So basically you have a ton of people willing to bet their souls that there is no God because one of the deadly sins - Pride!
They refuse to think that some entity is above them, therefore they refute all the evidence.
