I would just like to point out that the people in this argument claiming that because God doesn't help them or doesn't do it for them proves there is no God is sadly and utterly misinformed on exactly how it all works. If God could just fix everything for you then what would be the point of faith and belief? Does turning to God mean he will fix it though? No. If you ask for peace he will not just *poof* grant you peace. He may grant you the opportunity to be peaceful or grant you the opportunity to better yourself, but he wont do it for you. Also, don't be pompous either. A lot of people today demand a lot of things from God and it surprises me a whole bunch that people think they can demand something from a being that is infinitly greater than themselves. Takes a lot of arrogance if you ask me. |
So it takes a lot of arrogance to demand something from God, but making assumptions on "how it all works" regarding God (as you said earlier in your post) is just fine? What kind of doublethink is this? |
How is it doublethink? Demanding something from God and making assumptions about how God dishes out the blessings has nothing to do with each other really. |
If we're talking about being arrogant, I think those two things have everything to do with each other. You think God is an all-supreme infinitely wise being, yet you still think you're wise enough to know what he does or how/why he does it? If that's not being arrogant, I don't know what is really...
