Wii U Gamepad and Nabbit (from New super mario bros U) Helped Nearly Blind Girl play her First Video Game

A nearly blind girl plays her first video game due to the Wii U and it’s bevy of control schemes.

People complain and argue that the GamePad is an unnecessary accessory on a system that is failing to launch fast enough.  They complained that the Wii Remote was too simple and could not allow for “proper” gaming.  Yet here I sit able to say that the Nintendo Wii U…with it’s GamePad and ability to use the Wii’s Remotes has led to me playing a game with my daughter directly for the first time. Where at night when my wife goes to work at the hospital me and the boys could join into a 3 player game while my daughter would watch a movie finally have a 4th player.  We are together and my daughter has broken another “she can’t”.

This was the last part of the article, but feel free to read the rest:http://www.zenspath.com/home/2013/8/26/the-gamepad-helped-my-daughter-play-her-first-game-and-shes.html

I absolutely love this story, I’m glad this girl got the opportunity to play the video games we all take for granted sometimes.

Truly amazing story. You should post the entire thing here.

It's sad to hear people only complaining about video games being violent and don't see stories like this.

What's funny is that there was a similar story to this one regarding the 3DS. It was how some guy who had a lack of depth perception was able to see in 3D for the very first time using the 3DS' glasses free 3D technology.

beautiful

beaultiful!

I guess the WiiU has finally found it's demographic...

The silver lining being that the father and his beloved daughter can finally game together, such a loving and sweet moment.

I feel sorry for his daughter and anyone in her situation, sight is such a wonderful thing to have when your a visual creature, to not have it or partially have it is a cruel fate indeed, but I hope through the marvel of science, his daughter may one day be able to see with 20/20 vision. Until such time I hope the father and daughter duo have a happy gaming life for the next years to come.

The rest of your comment was very classy. But was that opening shot really neccisary?
