Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One Day One Edition sold out at GAME, store can’t guarantee launch day delivery of standard edition

Microsoft have 6.2 million Xbox Ones to sell between launch day and Dec 31st. All of them will sell. The exclusives alone are gonna move units. Their AAA catalog is one of the best in launch history.

Says who? I could have sworn they just decereased their projections or something....

But in all seriousness, are they really going to sell 6m in a month and a half

Actually MS said 7 million.
Then there was the rumor that they decreased that to 6.2 million.
Then this rumor was debunked by MS and they stick with 7 million.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

7m in 1 1/2 months? Would that not be a world record? That's like 1m per week. That might be feasible if they meant by the end of their fiscal year, ie, June

I understand you aren't making it up, but surely you can agree that it is absurd. I have been other stuff around this and the link does have Microsoft denying that they are decreasing hardware numbers. The only way that it can actually make any sense to me is if they meant Fiscal year not calendar year. I'm not questioning you, I'm just saying that I don't understand how they can ship or sell 7m by the end of the year

30% will be returned from RROD no doubt, so I shall wait for the revised batch like I did with the 360.

there are no rings on the XB1 so no RRoD possible....

Yea because they want to spend Billion again fixing the problem. You can bet this one is not going to over heat or have issues.

actions speak louder than words. Until they can prove they cna do it right people will be waiting to see th efeedback for a few months unless they hardcore micrososft fans and want the console day one.

MS made a mistake with 360, doesn't mean they're prone to failures anymore than Sony are given PS2 was terrible (over a span rather than being frontloaded).

I don't know the specifics but the Xbox One is similar to the 360 slim build in its reliability or something?? It's just very unlikely any significant failure rates are going to occure, especially with those big ass fans.

So we can take from this thread the only reason its sold out is because xbox fans are opportunists, buying 2 or 3 of them, pity its not because of actual demand at this point.

Shame

it's probably worst on ps4 side any smart guy that want to cash in should stock pile ps4s... i know people that can't stand apple and do that with iPhones.... i wouldn't be suprised to see eBay being flooded with ps4 stock piled sellers that don't even care about gaming... that's why i never believed in the power of pre order numbers.... only big fans and money makers are the one jumping in....

Yeah i was being tounge in cheek, just making a joke based on the comments in this thread.

Its a dangerous game tho, i know someone who bought 4 PS3s on launch and couldnt even get there money back on them as stock was so plentifull.

Pretty sure i never saw a console without issues.

most NIntendo consoles made lol. Their failure rate is so small.

In recent time PS3 has been pretty good too, compared to their other two consoles, so things are loking up for microsoft.
