What's wrong with comparing two recent consoles manufatured by Nintendo with anemic and sad launches eventually met with a tonne of support and love doubled with a price reduction?

Both look to be taking the same route, so I fail to see the problem.  Nintendo fixed the 3DS with tonnes of support, love, and quality games, why can't they be expected to do the same for the WiiU?

Before 3DS' price drop it fell below 80k a handful of times. However, it reached 100k more times than that. For the most part it's hovered at 80k-90k. Wii U is hovering at 30k and has been longer than the 3DS ever was hovering at 80k. After the price drop announcement the system fell to 40k the week before the drop... the announcement was a week before that. The Wii U's announcement? Over 3 weeks in advance instead of 2 weeks with the 3DS... If the Wii U follows any sort of similar pattern do you know how much it's boost will be? Around 115k the week of the price drop. 100k the week after. 70k the week after. Still gloomy huh?

Achievements, sensible friends system, messaging, integration into the console, grouping up, being able to share content with one click of a button, betas, Gaikai streaming for backwards compatibility, Media and TV integration, larger infrastructure, DVR capabilities...............

It is one fo the many things nintendo is way behind the competition in.

Achievements - IS there but optional for devs. Accomplishments can also be shared on Miiverse easily and is just as satisfying if not more.

Friend System - What's wrong with the friend system?

Messaging - What's wrong with messaging/ Are you just randomly listing things?

Integration into console - Yes, accounts being linked to the console is a  problem and needs to be fixed.

Grouping - Miiverse Communities.

Sharing content - Can be done on Miiverse. Even better now with recent updates.

Betas - Was done with DQX.

Streaming for BC - Wii u is BC...

Media and TV integration - TVii, with gamepad as universal controller. Not to mention a great browser.

Larger Infrastructure - Dunno what this means.

DVR capabilities - TVii

Seems like you don't actually know much about WiiU's system and are just going based on your preconceived notions.

This isn't thw Wii system vs PSN + live all over again. Not even close.

It's a nice system with some unique concepts and they've been constantly updating it to smooth out flaws.

Anyways. as I said, it isn't some big part of Wii u's current problems like you suggested.

All the stars are aligned for PS4. It wins Japan and Europe by default and so far its winning in NA. If things go well enough it might outsell WiiU+Xbone combined.

With all the recent announcements with the WiiU, I wouldn't count on that prediction being true. :)

?? No wii-u announcements really change anything did they?

A price drop sure can convince alot of people. Don't follow your post tbh.

A 50 dollar price cut won't fix whats wrong with the wii-u.

Whats wrong with it?

It will take far more than a $50 difference to make people buy the Wii U.  Let me break down what +$100 gets you when you get a PS4 instead:

-500GB instead of 32GB

-Blueray Support

-10x the gaming performance (Not a random number)

-A well established unified Online Network

-Countless  Social and Cloud features

-And finally so many great games I could not list them all in under an hour

The only thing you give up is a tablet controller which can be had with a better experience using the Vita (Even a longer battery life) and Free Online (If you can even count the Wii U as having online games).  The Wii U should have always cost as much as the PS360.  Until it does it is a joke of a buy...

-

All for 150 dollars more? Think of the average consumer. Nintendo has their big hitters releasing, while PS4 has a very meh lineup for 450 dollars (With internet). As for your Vita argument, 200 + 400= 600 dollars for that. Money doesn't grow on trees.

The wii-u lineup is worse..... in 2014 when all those big third party games keep coming to ps4 and not wii-u, nintendo will be left behind...........Gamecube was cheaper, how did that do?

Wii had worse third party support, much weaker and inferior online, how did that do?

These type of arguments go both ways, GC sold poorly despite many advantages and Wii sold amazing despite many disadvantages.

One thing to think about is by the end of 2014 Wii U will have up to 10 games that belong to series that sell over 5million on average.

NSMB, Wii Party, Wii Fit, DKC, 3D Mario, Mario & Sonic Olympics, Mario Kart, Smash Bros and possibly Zelda and Wii Sports. 10 games that on average sell over 5 million. PS4/One will be sharing most games and not with just each other, many will also be on PS3/360/PC/Wii U so certain games will be split up by up to 6 platforms which will take away the significance of PS4/One having them.

That in addition to being $100-200 cheaper or $200-300 if u factor in PS4/One with a game and a year of online makes Wii U a very attractive buy for families and people on a budget.

Wii U+5 games=PS4+1 game+online

Wii U+7 games=Xbox+1game+online

I dont think many people are thinking it will sell the same as 3DS after the price cut+holiday titles but instead have a similar increase percentage wise. 3DS was doing about 80k before the price cut and for the past 2 years has been doing about 150-180k. So Wii U could average out to 75-100k per week which isnt amazing but not horrible. That would be 6-8 million per year when factoring in holidays.

I still can't believe we don't have this in Europe. This is my biggest problem with my Wii U (apart from the account thing you mentioned stops me buying anything digitally).

post in my thread. I like your response. I'll discuss it in there

yep PS4 already won considering it's not even out yet. Thanks to the internet hardcore fans.

as long as sony doesnt change anything for the worse, keeps third parties happy and they pump out variety exclusives, I expect them to sell stronger than the other two. The cheaper price compared to Xbox one's gonna help out a lot too.

I would also add here that Nintendo is with the second screen, the way that Microsoft is with Kinect 2.0. Both MUST be a must-have differentiator, or they don't win. Off chance of exclusive or something else, but the second screen and Kinect 2.0 are the big deal. Nintendo is only $50 less expensive with inferior hardware.

bolded: that's not true at all since games are what matter.

bolded 2: even before the price cut announcement, it was always $100 less. 299 with no game or 349 with one game. and of course the hardware is inferior, but not that much.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I cannot believe the the sillyness of some people who honestly think the PS4 isn't atleast 9-12 times stronger than the Wii U.  OMG thanks for the laughs guys...

PS4 is at least 9 - 12 times more powerful than Wii U, huh?

Care to actually back that up?
