Forums - Gaming - Karmaflow: The First Rock Opera Video Game

You have to from UK or US for kickstarter, wich is the main reason people use indiegogo.

Tough most project were under 10k, since "noobz" got a million trough the platform there may be bigger project on it now.

That said, I don't like either rock opera or Dragonforce.

I didn't know that. Canada is about to get Kickstarter soon so that'll expand the range. The team is from the Netherlands so it would make sense that they have to use Indiegogo.

Not sure what you mean by your second statement.

It's cool that you don't like Rock Opera or Dragonforce, I honestly didn't know much about either before hearing about this game. I don't listen to Metal much so my sample size is very small. But after listening to Ivo talk about the game and seeing what they're doing with it i got excited. You don't have to be a fan of either genre to like the experience this game is offering. All it really is at its core is telling a story in an interesting way.

In case you didn't know, I have a comic book called Guardians. I'm the writer/creator of it, and we have four issues out right now, with our fifth coming out soon!

We're also doing a Patreon right now for the comic, and I'd appreciate any and all help in getting it funded. If 56 people pledged $3 per issue, we'll be funded

Interesting. In amidst all of the cinematic experiences it's certainly refreshing to see some go for a more classic approach. Not yet sold on this particular project though. And apparently they've hired Dani Filth...*shrugs*

It is refreshing isn't it? I like what Ivo and his team are doing with this especially in regards to how they're telling the story and how the player and alter how the story is told.

Again I'm not a Metal fan so I really don't know much about Dani Filth, but I know that's not the only singer they've hired (they're supposed to be 10 main ones) and that they're modeling the characters to match the voice. So at the very least it'll be interesting to see how the characters look once it's all done.

Some french webserie(or web tv show ?) went for a movie trough indiegogo, asked for 70k, gor 1 million, wwich has been the biggest project on indiegogo so far (april 2013).

As there were only small projects before (less than 10k euros) that was far from the big kickstarter, but that might have change now because of the said webserie.

And yeah, this sounds interesting, but I won't pledge, i'll wait for when the game is out.

Cool. I didn't know that. I'm learning more every day.

It's fine if you don't donate. But definitely keep a tab on this game, they say they're going to reveal more info once the campaign is done.

So there's about 16 hours left in the Karmaflow Indiegogo Campaign, it's raised over 30,000 Euros so far which is fantastic but it could always raise more. In fact they added a last perk for the endgame run. If you donate ten Euros or more you'll get a FREE second copy of the game to give to a friend. Details are on the Indiegogo page here.

Oh and check out this cool image they sent to the backers this morning.

If they sign Michael Kiske I'll give them all my money.

I'll admit I have no idea who that is but I can say that it's a possibility. They're contacting (and have been contacted by) musicians from all over to ask if they want to be in this game. In my first post I mention 10 artists are confirmed, only 8 have been revealed so far. So you're guy could be one of the final two, you never know....

Shame on you!

You said you're not a metal fan, though, so I'll let it slide. And Kiske almost exclusively works in other people's rock opera projects these days, so it's possible!

Well there you go, it's a strong possibility......so if you're feeling lucky go ahead and give them all your money...lol.
