A friend of mine had a 360 since the start and only got online about 6 months ago.

For me personally, the online aspect of 360 is one of the best things about it. Downloading old titles is really convenient and even if no one's online you can still compete on achievements.

I used to but when I moved all my gaming stuff into another room, the internet router stayed in the other room. Since I have an Elite which has no built in wifi and I never bothered to buy the wifi adapter, I don't have XBL.

I never used gold. Didn't need it for games like ME, Fable, AC, Batman and so on. I only got into COD on Wii U, which is weird, I know. But also hundreds of dollars cheaper.
