While I love Final Fantasy IX and would certainly play a remake of it, I don't think that the game really needs a remake. I would much rather that Square-Enix focus their resources on new entries to each of their franchises (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, etc.), as well as new intellectual properties.

Besides, if there is one Final Fantasy game that needs a re-release, remake, or port, it's Final Fantasy VI, especially considering that its 20 year anniversary is next year.  The fact that Final Fantasy V recently got remade (for IOS), along with the upcoming anniversary, leads me to believe that VI may be the next undertaking.

I would say: get in line.

Logically speaking it wont come before the remake of 7 and 8.

short answer, not as cool as having final fantasy 6 (or 4 for that matter) remade with 3d graphics onto a home console. I'm pretty sick of the handheld love the franchise has gotten in the past. I would love to play that ffIV remake they made a while back on my television. 6 would floor me though. I'd be so psyched. FFIX graphics aren't that dated yet, so i wouldn't be as thrilled even though it's probably in my top 3 final fantasies.
