Yes it can be useful and fun to use; though its not entirely accurate according to some because of multiplayer games making variables in the time to complete category.

Edit: I totally agree with green_sky I am fast becoming much more selective in what I buy and have even stopped buy genres I no longer care for, like puzzle and simulation games.

its called getting older and shifting priorities.. it happens.. My backlog is huge and my gf is complaining that I buy games but never play them..

I know the feeling. You buy all these games and never play them or don't care to play them because you have others that you might prefer.

I've definitely lost interest in gaming in general as a result of it being so available to me. When I was younger, when I could afford a game I was HYPED. I made sure to play it all the way through and enjoyed it completely. Now I play through a game like Max Payne 3 and I think - well, that was okay. Next...

It's really quite strange how our thoughts change over time.
