They had an entire mini direct on this feature way back when (I forgot Dx), but since then, nothingness. It was slated for a Summer release, but Summer is almost over, and still we know nothing of it's situation! It's wierd as we've gotten other new features like streetpassing with Nintendo Zone and new Mii Plaza games, yet these were all first known about after the Flipnote Direct. I was pretty intrigued by this feature so I'm a little concerned about what's going on with it. Or maybe they did say what the issue was and I just hadn't heard about it. :L

It came out in Japan already? And what does them using it a lot have to do with us not getting it? o_O

I don't think they want to interfere with Art Academy's sales so they delayed it ( not confirmed but I'm guessing).

From what I've heard, the servers were blown up by how many used the app in Japan alone, so they delayed it in the states/Europe to fix things up, IIRC it'll come out in October/November in the US, while no European release was announced, which sucks as I use a European 3DS

Yes and yes! This new version will have more colors and of course can be used with 3D.

They are two completely different things and iirc, on two completely different systems! (Flipnote for 3DS, Art Academy for Wii U)

Ah I see. Nintendo needs to stop underestimating their own products! And hopefully Europe get's it around the same time NA does!

That'd be cool but not likely since I don't believe photoshop is a mainstream thing nor would many people be willing to pay over half the price of a 3DS for it.
