As CGI said, there is an Ethernet port, what they said they don't have is an Ethernet cable that comes with it. Ethernet Port - yes Ethernet Cable - no |
Yeah i must have mised it in the hands-on video, glad to hear.

And? My info is from Sony, that is from a leaked picture. Also I believe it is meaning PS4/Orbis OS, not that the OS is called Orbis.

Then feel free to prove your point - your turn.

I posted a video from Sony saying it was called Dynamic...

Wait - this crappy video done by a pr guy is your proof?! I still believe the pic more and the article. Nobody calls an OS "Dynamic". I didn't even hear it when watching the video... The guy who speaks probably doesn't even have the slightest idea what bsd is.

Forza wins. DriveClub is doing way more real time stuff that technically is better, but who cares what the numbers say. It was smart for Forza to bake and fake a lot of things. Looks amazing! |
Digital Foundry
Sony's press shots for DriveClub look pretty cool, but despite some neat features such as proper vehicle deformation and some beautiful lighting, the low quality, blurry textures looked a world apart from what Forza 5 was achieving running at twice the frame-rate.

But you conveniently omit to mention this part:
Declared as pre-alpha code, MotorStorm developer Evolution Studios is quick to point out that the E3 build in demonstration is only 35 per cent complete.
8th generation and still static pre-baked lighting, no weather for a sim racer? It was already embarrassing last gen. 5th gen could do it, why keep stuck in the past to get shiny cars. Turn 10 needs to stop chasing the best looking press shots and make an immersive sim racer.

Yeah, because lightning is just what a race sim needs to be immersive. Sorry, but I don't belive anyone should care about the way lightning is rendered when it looks good enough, Forza looks great with pre-baked lightning(which no one would notice if the developers themselves didn't said it was) and that's what count. About weather, yeah, you're absolutely right.

For once I kinda agree. Although I like when the weather and time of day is dynamic during the races. Driving while the sun is setting is really awesome in GT5.
That being said, just because the ability to do dynamic lighting is readily available, doesn't mean every developers should use it. Sometimes, the use of static lighting serves the purpose of a game much better, with more convincing results for the particular scene, landscape or the mood needed.
