Platinum Games has revealed that the highly anticipated Wonderful 101 for Wii U will allow players the option of three difficulty levels at the onset of the game: Easy, Very Easy, and Normal. All three modes will grant the player infinite continues, retaining all damage inflicted upon a boss even after the player respawns. The Easy and Very Easy modes will be distinguished by the ability to perform multi-hit combos with the press of a single button, much like Super Street Fighter 4 on 3DS, or PG’s own Bayonetta.

One-button combos have drawn the ire of some gamers who believe they reduce the difficulty of games to an unacceptable level, while others argue the feature can make a game more accessible. Nintendo fans will be able to try out The Wonderful 101′s unique function for themselves when the game releases on September 15th in North America, and later this month in Europe. In the meantime, gamers can enjoy a demo of The Wonderful 101 in the Wii U’s eShop.

Calling it now, idiots will say that the game will only have Very Easy, Easy and Normal as difficulty modes and nothing else.

It's a Platinum game, harder unlockable modes that completely kick your ass are basically confirmed.

So looking forward to this, next Friday cant come soon enough. My money is ready baby!!

In the demo, when you have to choose the difficulty, you can see there is space for two more options. So expect a Very Hard mode also (maybe slowmotion wont be activated when drawing a weapon in this difficulty :o).

I don't understand why anyone would be against one button combos. I could see the problem in a competitive game where it invites spamming, but in a one player game, who gives a shit how other people choose to play?

The demo has room for 5 difficulties. And Normal was tricky enough from the get go!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
