wow...so much hatred in one review, it's unbelieveable...wow...did not see that coming, expected him to have gripes but fuck me that was...wow...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

It's not surprising.  They took what he didn't like in the first game... and made it more that.

Whilst I agree with his bug eyed remarks and the climb vs not climb remarks, I disagree with him on all else, this is a great game.

Actually if you look at his review again... he says something similar.

He says it's a good game.  He just doesn't like it because it has absolutely no real artistic merit from a design principle.

That just like the first game it plays like it was created by a marketing executive.  They took everything that was mainstream popular and made it a frankensteinesque type creation.

Nothing refering to Yahtzee here but I've always wondered why some games can get away with lacking originality but others are crucified for it.

I'm not sure why but it's the frankenstein aspects that I enjoy about the game, there's almost something for everybody.

Is that Uncharted 2 review for real? Or is that just his style of comedy?

If it's real, than consider me shocked! So much hatred with so little reasoning behind it... kinda weird... Especially from a game that has such great production values and such a great story. And one the last part where he says it steals from other games... WTF is that? Uncharted 2 doesn't 'steal' from anything. Actually, it does alot of things that appear only in Uncharted 1. This includes story progression, camera angles and more notably, the gameplay.

I mean, does Uncharted gameplay appear anywhere other than Uncharted? If so, I'd love to play another shooter-platformer of that style!!!

I imagine the answer to that is blatantness and scope.

In general, direct copycats are seen as homages and nice side diversions.

However, when the copycats end up becomeing more successful then the original... well people take it seriously.  Or when a game that doesn't have an original thought surpasses a number of original games... once again... people take seriously.

The overexaggerations in review scores likely only added to annoy Yahtzee in particular, since in his mind Uncharted 1 = Uncharted 2 but prettier which a game shouldn't get bonus points for since it's only natural to expect the graphics to get better later on in a genration.

Uncharted 1&2 likely remind him of the old "failed film student" stereotype we see so often on TV... or even sometimes meet in real life "It's like Resovoir Dogs... but with some Scarface and a little bit of Bloodsport!"   Etc.

It's both.

It's his style of commdey, and he overexaggerates in the way for comedic effect.  However his criticisms are his actual criticisms.
