Console games on an handheld was a dumb strategy if they keep going that way I hope the vita crash and burn

Console games on a handheld like Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Monster Hunter, Mario Kart, Star Fox 64, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead or Alive, MGS Snake Eater, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario 64...

Yeah, what a dumb idea... NOBODY wants to play console games on a handheld device . ;)

Yeah good thing Sony has such strong franchises on the vita

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Unfortunately for them it didn't do squat as the public has voted that the 3DS provided the best balance of power, portability and value for the money. The PSV aside from the imperceptible visual bump doesn't have the total charm and balance as a handheld that the 3DS has.  I actually find Nvidia's Shield a more alluring prospect than the PSV at the moment.  Anyways if PS4 doesn't boost PSV sales, Sony should really consider dropping the system so 3rd parties can concentrate on consoles and the 3DS and eliminate this haphazard distraction.

... seriously?

Software sells hardware, that's one of the core truths of the industry. If consumers found the Vita's library desirable, they wouldn't be shunning it.

You kind of made my point with your own post. Because quality =/= sales, there's a difference between desirable games and good games. Most good games have mass appeal, but there a lot that do not.

People don't desire games they think are bad though. They desire what they percieve to be good. Naturally quality is entirely subjective, but a library has everything to do with sales, because people buy a system to play its games.

Why wouldn't you? The Vita is the perfect handheld.

I own both.

But anyway... even i would'nt own any, i would like both of them to do it well.

Maybe is just because i like videogames.

Except that there are no easily recognizable franchises by any type of gamer, or non-gamer. They have Uncharted, God of War, and LBP. That's pretty much it. Most Non-gamers who have never played on a Playstation only know very little about any of them, and are uninterested in their games. Nintendo has always had the Mario, the Zelda, and the Pokemon to drive their handheld sales. Also, the DS brand is more recognizable than the PSP/Vita brand. The DS is the second best selling video game console of all time, after all.

I'm not sure what your point is. The question was whether I wanted the Vita to do better. I said yes and gave my reason. The better it does, the more games it will get.

My point is that there is no easily recognizable games, so it won't sell, so no games. Also, you never gave a reason why it is the "perfect" handheld that you say it is. Its flaw is the lack of recognizable games.

I don't know why anyone other than a fanboy would ever want a console to fail (unless its setting a dangerous precedent). I just want Vita to also have a stable audience to ensure a steady stream of games.

I prefer Vita as a system but I don't care about 3DS being a runaway success.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
