3 million minimum? That's suggesting 750k in Nov and Dec NPD (Because US will be well over 50% of WiiU sales this holiday) which is somewhat believeable, but not a minimum. Also suggests Japan will do 750k and Europe 750k, which both seem too high.

You can barely call it a price cut, the baseline price of $300 is still the same. It didn't drop, it got a sku shuffle and more value added. Fact is cheapest you could buy a WiiU at launch was $300, cheapest you can buy one this holiday, is $300. Fact.

Wii Party U and Wii Fit are pandering to an audience that no longer has interest in the Wii brand, they're not gonna chuck down $300 for Wii U Party ... just insane. 3rd Party games are thin on the ground. COD, Assassins Creed .... that's about it. The line up overall is incredibly weak in terms of system sellers. There is one and it's Mario 3D World.

8.5m pretty much a given? lol so 4.5m over the holiday, that's 2.3m in the US, 1.1m in Europe and 1.1m in Japan. Not happening.

Anything over that and I don't even need to disect it, it's a pipedream. But hey, why not 15m by the end of the year? It seems you don't need logic, you literally throw up whatever numbers you want it to do and think it's achieveable.

I assume the assumption is that if the WiiU got 3m in half Q4 it practically has to get that in a full Q4, but that 3m was including launch which always has a massive boost.  I'd be curious to look at consoles that launched in Q4 before and see how their 2nd year Q4 shipment matched up to their 1st.

You have no idea or rather you don't want to have any idea. You want to belive that the Wii is not a 7th gen console but you know it's true. I don't care what  logic or argument you use, the fact is that it IS a 7th gen console... The Wii produces games similar to the PS2 era and it's still a 7th gen console.

The tech might not be the same as the PS3 or the Xbox 360 but when we talk about a console generation we generally talk about the consoles that where competing for market share that generation. It doesn't matter if the tech isn't the same, they where competitors, and the Wii came first.

Let's stop this useless discussion. We won't reach anywhere, I seriously don't want to make any enemies here.

You have introduced an idea in your own mind and you want to maintain it at all costs. And you're entitled to do that. I'm not questioning your rights of freedom. But then you say you don't care about logics or arguments and I ask to myself "if that's so, what is this guy doing in a forum?". Forums were made to share, perspectives, logics, arguments and facts. Then what do you want from gamrConnect? Just to post your immature opinion (since it could never be enriched with the perspectives from others) and, whenever you see someone that disagrees from you, you reply and keep on saying "please don't answer! please don't answer!"? You're putting yourself in a humiliating position.

And who defines the bondaries of the market? VG Chartz and its market share percentages? They don't take into account that PS2 and PS3 were selling at the same time for years. You don't think they were competing in the same market? And what about PS1 and Dreamcast? Hadn't they sold in a similar time period? PS1 even sold after Dreamcast to have ceased production. Does that make them consoles from the same generation? If you think PS2 and PS3 are from different generations so are PS1 and Dreamcast, then you must consider Wii from a different generation than PS3 and X360 too. If you think they aren't, then you have the "most interesting" opinion about generations I've ever seen and most people here will think that too. Your logic is just a dead end.
