FIrst off, I don't own a gaming PC and I've never played a PC game. I'm just bullshitting this out of my asshole.
So, we live in a world where a new iPhone comes out every year, better versions of tablets release all of the time, and PC's are currently being upgraded. Why not consoles? The way I undertstand it, both a low end PC and a high end PC are both capable of running the same copy of a retail game but the higher end device has superior performance. In the console gaming world, it would be similar to a game like Perfect Dark on the N64. The game ran without special features on the N64 and gamers with the Expansion Pak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expansion_Pak#Expansion_Pak were able to play an enhanced version of the game with more textures and better effects. Either way, if you bought the game, it worked on your console.

Well, I was wondering. What if Nintendo released a better version of the Wii U hardware. It could run the exact same games as the Wii U but those willing to purchase the higher end model of the Wii U would have an experience akin to running the game at "max settings". All of the content is the same but for, let's say $500, you get a Wii U that has better framerate, more detailed textures, USB 3.0, larger internal HDD, game pad with longer range, etc.? Would that work? Would that silence those that think the Wii U is weak when compared to the Xbox One and PS4?
Discuss.
