To anyone who doesn't use the 3D, try leaving the slider to just barely on. It'll make your game look more bright and vibrant but without the 3D!

That would be because both of your eyes still recognize the backlight which gets turned up a notch when you switch into 3D mode (on a proper 3D setting each eye sees its own light). Powering the backlight is what drains the battery of the 3DS so fast.

But instead of your method, anyone could just turn up the brightness setting of the system. On max you risk to get blind anyway, so there's no need for your tip.

I don't need your life story! If you don't like my suggestion simply don't use it!

It still drains the battery and you still have to hold the console directly infront of you without horribly distorting the image. Rather just enjoy the game in 2D without the hassle.

I have always found this complaint strange. Do you move around a lot while playing games or something? Because I have never had any issues finding the sweet-spot even when playing rather hectic games. No hassle whatsoever.

No but usually when I am playing my 3DS at the same time I am doing something on my PC, which always leads my 3DS to always be at a constant angle from me.

It's always on. Full 3D mode gives brighter colors, adds more life to the graphics/characters and the screen doesn't seem that small (although it still is). It's difficult to describe, but its like there's way more to see in 3D.

I use it most of the time. It does grafix look more spectacular. And it doesnt hurt my eyes im not really tired.

mostly not. Because the 3D isn't that good tbh.

My issue isn't finding the sweet spot, it's that there's a sweet spot to begin with. I just don't like having to be in a specific position and I certainly don't like having my screen blurring up on me while I'm playing something hetic like Mario Kart. Heck even in something like Fire Emblem I still find it annoying. Basically it hinders my gameplay experience more than it enhances, and so I feel I'm better off without it, or rather having it on as low as possible just for the extra vibrance. This is coming from a fan of 3D btw!

you must never played on public transportation

I used it about 50% of the time when I first got it, back when I was playing Kid Icarus and Pushmo. I find myself using it much, much less often now -- maybe 10% of the time. Possibly the novelty of it has worn off, but I don't think it's quite that. The 3D really makes the colors pop, and I do really appreciate how nice everything looks with it on. But it drains the battery faster and it's just a bit distracting. Sometimes I feel like it takes longer to follow on-screen action in 3D, making 2D much preferable for action games like Monster Hunter. But in some games, the added depth perception and sharper visuals are worth the tradeoff -- I don't think I could play Sakura Samurai in 2D.

Basically, it depends on the game. I used it for the cutscenes in Fire Emblem, but not for the gameplay.

Very rarely, sometimes to check it out. I have often forgot it even does it when I get invested in a game like Fire Emblem.

I have no desire to ever see it implemented on future systems.
