To anyone who doesn't use the 3D, try leaving the slider to just barely on. It'll make your game look more bright and vibrant but without the 3D!

It still drains the battery and you still have to hold the console directly infront of you without horribly distorting the image. Rather just enjoy the game in 2D without the hassle.

I have always found this complaint strange. Do you move around a lot while playing games or something? Because I have never had any issues finding the sweet-spot even when playing rather hectic games. No hassle whatsoever.

My issue isn't finding the sweet spot, it's that there's a sweet spot to begin with. I just don't like having to be in a specific position and I certainly don't like having my screen blurring up on me while I'm playing something hetic like Mario Kart. Heck even in something like Fire Emblem I still find it annoying. Basically it hinders my gameplay experience more than it enhances, and so I feel I'm better off without it, or rather having it on as low as possible just for the extra vibrance. This is coming from a fan of 3D btw!
