Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo still selling Wii U at a loss

is it true? or is it not? cause if it is, that means i wont expect a price cut anytime soon, which is unfortunate.

No price cut for 2013 confirmed!?

do you read this..... this.... article?

Doesn't matter how bad the article is, what matters is this 'A Nintendo representative confirmed for GamesIndustry International today that the company's hardware is still being sold at a loss.'

Reggie said that they need to sell only ONE game to make profit

Nope! Just the thread title as I thought that was the tl:dr version of what was in the OP.

That was based on past projections, people have gone over this. Even with that little nugget that still means the hardware is sold at a loss ...

ok

Don't ask me how tho, it's kinda baffling.

Seriously though I'm going to call some level of BS on this. NOA/NOE reps pretty much never know what the hell they're talking about.

The Japanese yen has depreciated massively since last November, something to the tune of a $70 savings per console for Nintendo for Wii Us sold in North America as of today.

Horrible article. Wrong prices. Has been since decline that Reggie said one sell of software will lead to profit. Horrible fact checking by a horrible site in my opinion. Unprofessional.

Reggie backtracked on that btw.

Likely because they're still rolling through the same shipment as from 4 months ago.

Need to get economies of scale up in this 'biz...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
