Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 Avatars can be moved to Xbox One with new options

Neowin

Microsoft has already announced that current Xbox Live subscribers on the Xbox 360 will be able to use the same account to sign onto the Xbox One console when it is released later in November. But what about other aspects of their Xbox Live account, such as their avatars and gamerpics?

In a new "Ask Microsoft Anything" feature on IGN, Marc Whitten, Microsoft's chief Xbox One architect  confirmed that Xbox Live avatars on the Xbox 360 can also be moved onto the Xbox One. Those avatars will also have some new exclusive Xbox One features, such as support for "full-body HD gamerpics."

Speaking of gamerpics, Whitten said they will be getting a nice upgrade from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One. He stated:

We’ve moved from the 64x64 gamerpics on Xbox 360 to a full 1080p. They are beautiful, and you are going to see some really cool hero moments, like when you login to see personalized views of your games and other content.

Whitten also talked a bit more about the Xbox One's Game DVR feature, which will allow owners toautomatically record the last five minutes of gameplay. Whitten said the captured video will be in 720p resolution at 30 frames a second. He also stated that some Xbox One games could integrate captured game footage into the game itself in some way, but details were not discussed.

Awesome. Of course, my Avatar is on my cell phone already. I kinda assumed that this would already be a thing.

At 1920 pixels wide and only 1080 pixels tall, there's gonna be some super fat avatar upgrades available.

can i still see what the bottom of an avatars shoe looks like?

edit: ehh i failed with my logic...
