Double Dash was not very good.
Mario Kart Wii was phenominal.
Wii U Nintendo Network ID, Borode
XBOX Live ID, Borode
MKWii. Double Dash had great co-op, but that's the only enjoyment I squeezed from the game. I'd rather play MK64, and I'm not utterly fond of MK64 either. :/

Exactly what I was just thinking; MK Wii felt too casual, not nearly as exciting as Double Dash.
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Yes, it's more balanced, because every player has a chance to get the same items. DD was also really messed up in four player mode, because you could get a golden mushroom in second place (well, Toad and Toadette could get them). The same crap was present in Mario Kart 64. What this means is that the blue shell isn't the only item that can screw you over when you are in first place. It's mindboggling that people complain about the blue shell so much, but never mention the golden mushroom. The two things that are the most important when it comes to items are: 1) Every player is eligible to get every item. Not that MK Wii is perfect (the cloud item should never return and bikes vs. karts isn't balanced at all), but at least skill got rewarded more often than in the previous two home console entries. Super Mario Kart was the most skill-based, because it didn't have the item madness (usually you only got one item per lap). |

Fixed! They're meant to be simple so that anyone can pick it up and play. |
Mario Kart: Double Dash, 64 were simple as well but the mechanic challenge you along with the courses. I can understand holding the newcomers hand, I just wish it was opitional. I felt MKWii was holding my hand WAY too much.

But how exactly!? It's not like it gives you a tutorial on to drive on any track during any given situation. Heck the game doesn't even tell you how to boost off at the start or after you're saved by Lakitu.
