Forums - General - I'm building a Music/office/gaming PC, What should I get?

I got $1,000 to spend on the tower, I already have the software I need, what should I get?

I'm using this PC for MS Office, Music software and I would also love to play some of the top games. What would you recommend going with?

When it comes to PC gaming, I'm a Noob. So help me build a bad ass PC. If my price range is just outside of making the system that much better, Go ahead and explain why I should invest a little bit more.

Thanks for your help.

I will be running ableton for music production.

Music program's aren't heavy on resources though are they so I don't think that's a major factor really.

they're not, phones are good enough for rendering music these days (though not recommended)

video however takes a big hit.

a Musical keyboard is a must if you want to make sounds that are not generic, and then upload them to Soundcloud , best music community.

Don't over bomb your music, most of the time simplicity is the best, get too random and you will lose focus.

Edit. Oops, I didn't read the last sentence...

I'm thinking of moving to Ableton, downloaded a trial last night to give it a go. You like it? What do you use as a controller?

I have a lot of friends that use Ableton but I don't have much experience with it but from what others say, it's the way to go.

Right now I'm using 2 CDJ Pioneer Nexus and a Pioneer nexus mixer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a novice. I was just asking what he thought of ableton. I have an akai and a microkorg plus vocoder with Reason.

Sorry, the bolded part was for OP
