You're ignoring a major reason homosexuals are asking for to be allowed to marry etc., no one is getting hurt in the process. Rapist can never say that it's two consensual adults seeing as, by definition, one person has to not consent. Pedophilia is different too. We don't allow children to have sex of ANY kind until a certain age because they are deemed unable to decide for themselves properly about it, whether the sex is with someone the same age or older is irrelevant in that scenerio so why should it suddenly be allowed for just child-adult relationships?

Nope sorry, you cant have it both ways. We need to accept gays cause they were born that way well pedophiles and  rapist are born that way too. In ancient times and even up til 100 years ago or so we allowed people as low as age 12 to be married. If they could make that decision then, they can make it now. Besides those kids may also be born that way and like being with older adults. Its their right if they wish to do what makes them happy.

 

You cannot say only certain people get to be how they were born to be but everyone else has to conform to set standards.

Unity of core values is important for any nation. A divided nation is a weak nation, a divided nation is unable to fend of foreign threats. Eventually, the US should split and quite possibly will split into two because of a growing division between progressive liberalism in democratic states and religious conservatism in republican states.

I know for a fact I don't want to live in a world where marriage and family is a free-for-all. All cultures share sameness in certain practices, customs, norms, and beliefs. When these values and practices start to clash, people start to divide. 

With that said, the United States were and is a Christian state. It has always been a Christian state since the missionaries first erected colonies across the lands. Without Christianity, the lands would still be divided by tribal warfare and barbarism. The technological advances made over the centuries are owed to the Christian culture. It's not about Christianity as a religion, it has to do with Christianity as a culture. This culture has always rejected homosexuality and is responsible for creating the most prosperous and advanced civilizations of all time. 

I don't want to live or raise my children in a debaucherous society. I believe in family, and monagomy. Just as we were designed to live.

The US was actually made as a secular state. Even ignoring that fact, all democratic states are divided. Look at the US, your President actually got less of the popular vote than his opponent. Now look at the fact that he HAD an opponent. If the US was truly united, there would be no need for democracy because you would all agree on the same thing. As my previous example says, the US is in theory split down a 50/50 line and thus believe in different things. I don't see the US falling apart atm do you?

 

It was made secular to avoid religious persecution which happened frequently in Europe where the catholic church dominated. In all practices and reality, the early US was de facto Christian. All the laws including, the early abortion laws, and anti-sodomy laws were influenced by Christian values. The culture was heavily influenced by Christianity. It has only begun to seriously erode in the last century and particularly after the 50's with the spread of progressive liberalism and atheism.

I think you missed the part where I never said marraige or anything about it.

What I did say is that if people are allowed to live the way they were born then we must also accept the others who cannot help how they feel.

I find it funny that the excuse most of you use here to justify gay rights, no longer applies to other people when it doesnt suit you.

 

So people should be allowed to live their life however they choose, but only if they are gay, everything else is wrong...

Key words. Born that way.. Stop trying to justify your bias and double standards. If a child consents to sex and that is what he wants, he should be just as free as any homosexual person to explore those feelings with whomever they wish. Much the same way you want gays to have every right to do and say and act however they please.

Want to comment back? Explain why one group gets to live life however they see fit cause they were "born that way" but another group also" born that way" does not. Many people have sex at or around 13. What difference does it make what age the other person is if that is what the person wants?

You cant do it. You cannot do it without showing your bias and doublestandards. Like most gays you dont want equality. you want superiority. You want your lifestyle accepted while everyone else lives in fear and hides.

This guy is so spot on. Pedophiles would argue the same thing that they too were "born" a certain why and can't help themselves. You can't just pick and choose, it just shows you people are politically motivated.

Oh and before you say "it's between consenting adults" please note that "consenting" and "adult" are nebolous terms. There are social studies in Europe which show that "children" can indeed consent to adult sexual relationships and suffer no apparent harm when such unions are considered mutually agreed upon.

there's a guy's study that say most of the population is bisexual. we all range to 100% heterosexuality (the absurd minority), to small to high levels of homosexuality (the overwelming majority), to 100% homesexuality (the other minority).

the problem is that something horible happened in the past and now we live in this disgusting world filled with disgusting people. So most of those that have small to moderate interest in the same sex ends up supressing the desire in order to "fit in".

Not disagreeing. Just saying that the argument "why do you care about x when there adults." Can be said on anything. My comment was a neutral statement in which I wasn't agreeing or disagreeing with the post.
