I think that is a great deal
As you don´t plan to buy digital games, 8Gb is enough to save some game files. In the future you may need a simple pen-drive to expand it.

As for the games, get the excellent Lego City Undercover, NSMBU, Monster Hunter 3 and Injustice God Among Us (If you don´t have it on other console). ZombiU is also worthy checking out, it´s a fine survival horror that extensively explores the Gamepad functions. If you´re a sports fan, get NBA 2K13.

Nintendoland is also great but i´d recommend it just for multiplayer. If you play alone, maybe it´s better to skip this one

There are actually many games I would like to try but I'm not sure about my budget yet.

you can't use SD cards to save files from Wii U games. That is just for Wii. You will need an sd adaptor than can be connected via usb to save files, but you can get a 100GB hard drive by the time you need it, maybe 2-3 years from now because yoy say you don't download games. 

TRY LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER, TRINE 2 AND OTHERS ESHOP GAMES. They are really good. I still have 22 GB free and 5 downloadable games and virtual console games.
