Final Fantasy is getting too complicated for its own good, turn back to basics: modest hero, finding companions one by one, traveling in a world, them vehicles, then better weapons, then misteries. Keep it humble, keep it slow, less crazyness, less crazy clothing: focus on a fun game for once. Or, keep this in mind: when making a game, REMEMBER CHRONO TRIGGER. |
So go back to 90's is your answer which actually happen's to be reason the JRPG's are suffering now.

No. I was playinf FF13-2 last week and my head almost explode, there were 8 people on the screen talking at the same time, tons of lingo that I had to focus really hard to get and a lot o stuff happening at the same time, a freaking chaos.
I was like, Jesus Christ, give me a break, let me breath.
Just, keep it simple, just that.
I said Chrono because it was a simple game:
- the battles were fought, not watched
- You learn about characters one at a time;
- Itens were just itens, you trade the worst for the better and that is it
- The history starts simple and THEN, it evolves.
FF these days, is a crazy mess, then they handhold us because they know the game is too crazy for a normal person to understand.
It is still good, like, I was playing FF13-2 and all of sudden I was surprise when I realize this: the last 15 minutes were fun, I liked it.
I mean, they can do cool stuff, but they need guidance, they need a north. And the NORTH, in my opinion, must be this: KEEP IT SIMPLE. LESS IS MORE.
Then, and only then, you can add misteries, super weapons, side quests, stuff that, IF I WANT, I can get myself more deep into.
Just that.
