Are we arguing Microsoft makes better hardware now? Really?

Yes, some how because ps2 had an acceptable failure rate. Sony and ms are on equal footing althoght the 360 is quite possibly the worst consumer electronic device ever.

Well my ps2 from 2003, my xbox 1 from 2004, and my ps3 from 2008 are still working to this day. My cousin's 360 lasted about 3 months soooo lolololol.

Ive owned a few ps2's maybe 6. Traded a lit when I was younger. Never had a problem. Sure I got the disk read error. Cleaned the lens and it fixed it right up. My xbox and 360 both broke. In fact ive seen 3 other 360s break right in front of me.

I had 4 ps2's - 1 for every room of the house- seems like overkill nowadays. Disk read error was an issue for 3 of them - not console breaking bad because it was easy to fix- but bad enough that we couldn't ignore it. But I remember people were making yellow light of death seem as bad as rrod... and no.. not even close. My almost 6 year old ps3 is still running fine.

You going to show proof?

Can find much more than a bunch of random post talking about 1-3 percent failure rate. I can't find any real prof that the ps2 has a high fail rate either. One can only concluded that it was in fact within acceptable industry standards. So going off of that Sony still has the quality down by a country mile considering the 360 was such a disaster.

Speaking of hardware: The original XBox is a friggin' beast. Outside of the shoddy DVD drive that thing still runs like a champ for most people.

My guess is MS can't decide if they want to nickle and dime the headsets for small profit or just throw them in. I can't imagine these things costing MS more then $2 to make.

It's just that simple.

Can't conclude anything. Now 360 was a disaster don't have hard proof of that either but seeing as they sat aside billions to fix it we can guess that it was very high. I say PS2s were high and I'd bet anything it wasn't some 1-3% I don't even know where you're getting that from.
