Forums - Nintendo - AR games for 3DS. Could we see a revival of them...through Pokemon?

Kid Icarus did it with all it's collectables and all, it seems to me that Pokemon is the perfect game to have AR card functionality. Kids and collecters will pay some sweet $$ for these.

And what of a whole new Pokemon AR card game? Like a new Pokemon TCG played through AR cards and the 3DS? I could see it being quite big for a while, and a lot cheaper to produce that NFC tag reading figures.

Make a 3DS/Wii U Pokemon crossover title. AR cards for 3DS and NFC figurines for Wii U. Could sell alot and be Nintendos own answer to Skylanders.

Scanning in AR cards is too much of a pain with lighting to really be used for a full game.  It's a cute feature to be used on the side, but not much else.  An NFC pokemon card game could work though.

You basically scan the card using your 3DS and it unlocks content

It's like you scan the card, an image appears on your screen that you can view in 3D.

Pretty nifty feature.
