Gotta love the IGN's comment section xD

indeed :p

they go as far as claiming ps4 can't run 60FPS 1080p lol

I was expecting some serious opinions from people that really knows how this works from the great gaming sites, and what i found is more incompetent ignorance, in this case from gameinformer. They only sound like any other fanboy for me....

Our Take:
Those supposed advantages that the PS4 was set to enjoy over the Xbox One sure seem to be dropping like flies, don’t they? I’m no fan of the unbearable wait to bring up the Xbox Guide or the somewhat more manageable delay in calling up the PS3 XMB, but reducing your system’s available memory by 43 percent is a high price to pay. RAM is the most important resource for many new modes of gameplay and other innovations that developers are looking to create on next-gen consoles. I’m all for my friends list instantly popping up on screen when called for, but do I want that at the cost of another 20 AI-driven characters active in the world? That’s a much harder question.

4.5GB of GDDR5 is still a huge bonanza of high-speed memory for developers to work with in 2013, but will we still be saying that in five years when Nvidia is rolling out unified CPU/GPU architecture with 16GB of similarly fast RAM for $200 tablets? As sexy as the PS4/XB1 tech specs are today, remember that they’re broadly similar to mid/high-end PCs available right now and that technology gets faster and cheaper every day. Ten years is a long time to lock in a hardware spec for, and I question the wisdom of both Sony and Microsoft cutting their systems off at the knees like this.

I want to say people on GAF and IGN are trolling with the "preorder cancelled" comments, but people react in the strangest ways.

Rumor: Xbox one is getting 12 gigs of ram. Headsets will be included in Xbox one. Kinect-free xbox incoming.
Random comment: Hurr Durh PS4 preorder cancelled.

People have a habit of taking rumors without the necessary grain of salt. Just relax and wait for something to get confirmed and then continue to use your brain from that point on.

Some people don't have enough responsibility to preorder a 4 or 500 dollar product - especially with how fast their moods swing.

Well that 15 min background recording has to be stored somehwere.

...Hard drive?

Afaik the PS4 storage is still a HDD. I am not talking about the part where the user decides that the last couple minutes were pretty good so he saves it. Yeah, that goes to the HDD, obviously. I am talking about the part where the console is constantly recording gameplay in the background. Always. Sending this data constantly to the HDD would mean that the disc inside is spinning all the time, and that is not good in terms of power consumption, in terms of heat, in terms of noise and most importantly, in terms of MTBF.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Reading comments on ign, gamespot or gameinformer, i can't believe how many people react the way they do. So, ps4 has 4'5-5'5 gb gddr5 ram for games vs 5 gb ddr3 ram on xbox one and suddenly all the people are hailing xbox one as the better hardware. Maybe i'm an idiot that don't read it right, but..., if ps4 and xbox one have almost the same amount of ram for games, and ps4 have gddr5, in which dimension or reality xbox one is more powerful?? And not to forget that the gpu of ps4 is better too.

It's really stupid reading from xbox fans that ps4 is an epic fail because of the amount of ram, when xbox one is the same.....

Some of the Sony fanbase made a huge deal over the PS4 having 8gb of ram. People were beating their chest about how PS4 games will have superior graphics because of the ammount of ram it has. Some even went as far saying that the PS4 would be ahead of PC for quite some time  because of the ammount of ram. When the Xbox One was reveled to only have 5gb available for games, people started to say the Xbox One would be at a severe disadvantage to the PS4.

So yes it is a big deal, not to me though, because some of the Sony fanbase praised the ammount of ram as the be all end all.

And for Cerny and Sony. How could they have let us believe the ps4 had 7 GB for games. They knew we all thought that was a fact but remained silent. I feel like they lied to me.

I'm now considering not buying the ps4 not because it has less ram but because they thought they could fool people.

Did anyone from Sony ever state that the PS4 has 7 GB for games? Or was it just the fans speculating?
