OPMuk are hyped for the arrival of the ps4 (I know, I was shocked to learn this as well.) And every week, they do a feature of things they either like to see or are coming in the next gen, this time is the list of things they DON'T want next gen.

There are 8 and I have to say I agree with them.

1: Focus Mode 

2: Brutal Melee Takedowns

3: Nice Guy Heroes who are also relentless Killers

4: Holding your breath to aim

5: QTEs

6: Collecting things for no reason

7: Snap to Cover systems

8: Dubstep

... And, last but not least, the dominance of the FPS genre. You're getting old and boring.

#1, Yahtzee once said in Batman: Arkham Asylum that he doesn't understand why you'd not play with it on constantly. It's basically a 'go here do this' button to help you.

#3 I'm a comic book fan, I read X-men, Wolverine is one of my most hated heroes because he's not a hero, he's a murderer.

#4 No point if in multiplayer there is aim assist and quickscoping.

#5 Just yes, agreed.

#6 Everything you collect must have a purpose, not just achievement or trophy unlock, I mean collect 15 artifacts and get unlimited gun ammo or a new outfit.

#8 Don't understand this one, not played any games with Dubstep in, I don't think.



I'd like to add to the mix, single player games with a multiplayer. Uncharted was a great game in it's own right, lots to do, a good story, collectables etc. Uncharted 2 was a great game, lots to do, great story, collectables and a random stuck on generic multiplayer feature. Mass Effect 3 was the worse of the bunch. No need for it at all, it affected the story, in my view that's a sin. They need to remove multiplayer features like this from single player games and just spend more time making the main game bigger and better.

Sadly I think MP is here to stay.

Agree with most of them, but I'd like to throw in protect missions. Almost universally the least favorite part of any single player campaign. Bonus points if the AI that's too dumb to live is programmed to do it's own thing and you have to follow it instead of it trying to stick with you.

Yep. Studies have shown people are less likely to resell games that have multiplayer, and you know how much publishers can't stand second-hand sales.

I you don't like it don't play it.

I don't mind it being on games that make sense. FPS history is filled with multiplayer traditions, fighting games too but RPG/Adventure games?

There was no reason for the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, in anyway at all. Spend more time to make the game good than waste time on a needless MP which takes up resources and money, both of which could be better spent on the main game. If you do have MP in a single player game, don't have it affect the main game. Same reason why I never understood GTA online part.

For the record, when I say "MP" I was referring to shoe-horned MP
