Forums - Politics - Should American's be allowed to smoke electronic cigarettes in businesses?

Can't they already?

This is the Game of Thrones

Where you either win

or you DIE

Around the Network

I actually tried one for the first time last week. It tasted like a Strawberry Milkshake, but didn't have nicotine in it.

It sounds to do indoors, but honestly I haven't been around them to know yet how persuasive they are.

I personalty think the most annoying problem doesn't come from the tobacco in the cigarettes, it is that half of what is in a cigarette is not tobacco but some odd by products and weird chemicals.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!

We still don't know about the secondary effects on long term, as it's new.

And, as people throw rocks at you when you are a smoker, and how stupid they are, I don't think electronic cigarettes will change anything, people will still find ways to complain about it.

So yeah, that should be allowed, but no, it won't be.

No, but not because of any dangers because how it looks. It doesn't look professional.

There is talk about the safety of it in the UK as well. However, if they smoke properly there are already health risks, if they do it this way and there are as well, no different but they people are smoking an addictive drug, what do you expect?

Hmm, pie.

Really am I reading these comments correctly? You guys are in here complaining about non smokers and not wanting to be around cigarette smoke? Excuse me but I would like to be able to breathe clean air without it being polluted with cigarette smoke. I dont want to be exposed to cancerous substances. For all I care cigarettes should be $50 a pack. I'm glad that it is basically impossible for a smoker to smoke in public. You may choose to kill yourself but you don't have the right to shorten my life. We aren't "pissy" Americans and we dont throw rocks at smokers.
Electronic cigarettes as far as I'm concerned only give off water vapor. If that is true then smoke away but dont complain about not being able to pollute air with traditional cigarettes.

It should be up to each business on whether or not they want to allow it (same goes for regular cigarettes too). I may hate cigarette smoke but the government shouldn't have the final say.

Electronic cigarettes have their negatives too.

People smoke more because they know there is no cancer causing chemicals.

Some people also get headaches from them as the nicotine is more pure than from a cigarette.

The problem is, you have to allow people the freedom to make choices, whether they are smart or poor choices, that isn't up to us to decide for other people. E-cigarettes give off water vapor, and there are no second-hand effects, so no, they should not be banned from public places or from any place.

Also, you're not going to die from breathing in a tiny amount of second-hand smoke once every six months at a bar. Smoking shouldn't be banned from bars, there should merely be certain bars that allow it, and certain bars that don't, based on the decision of the business owner.

You cannot protect people from their own stupidity, nor should you. Just as you cannot tell someone how they ought to run their business.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

No the government SHOULD have the final say. I shouldn't be exposed to a cancer causing substance just because you have an addiction problem.

Should alcoholics be allowed to drink and drive?
