Techie-people won't notice much different from how memory works on other systems so they won't care much either.

Third group are the ones who just want to play and don't understand technical things but could be hyped by official statements as they were on every generation.

I don't understand why people would be happy if a certain console is downgraded (thankfully that's not the case). It's still a bad thing and gamers would be negatively affected. I'm not suggesting I've seen any posts here that point to that, but definitely in the Gaf thread that inspired this one.
