Both on par I think, more room for WiiU saviour than Vita IMO. PS2 is discontinued Ethomaz!

But compare the shippment for the same quarter for Vita... the Wii U numbers are terrible.

Sony never said they discontinued PS2... there are no official... and last quarter they shipped PS2 even when some article said they stopped.

"Sony confirmed to The Guardian that, following the recent news of it being discontinued in Japan, the best-selling home console ever is now no longer being manufactured."

Last Q they shipped all remaining stock hence the unusually high numbers.

But yeah if it were still being made it would have outside WiiU, heck everything has except DS!

i been hearing that for the last 3 or 4 quarters now, its getting boring.

I don't know because this article was proved wrong... there are a Sony executive in February said they are still shipping PS2... that's the only official word from Sony.

And last quarte Sony said they will stop to make PS2 hardware projections for the firscal year but they are still shipping the console.

Maybe you are right but no official confirmation exists yet.

Hmm, do you have a link? All I see is sites confirming it.

Anyway talking of discontinuing, I bet Wii will be discontinued (and DS) by early 2014. Their 2m FC for Wii is way too high.

I'm not talking about the previous 3 or 4 Q's I'm talking about the last Q, and combined PS3 + PS2 was up YoY, hence unusual sales.

I will they to find it but there was a thread here in February.

Wii is selling better than Wii U... it shipped 210k last quarter... and DS 60k.

N64 and GC outshipped Wii U without release in Europe lol

From GAF.

Worldwide shipments after 3 quarters:

WII 9.27m
GCN 3.80m (8 months North America and Japan; no Europe)
N64 3.80m (7 months Japan; 3 months North America; no Europe)
WIU 3.61m

why the "lol"?

Why not? The sitiation is laughable compared with previous home consoles... Wii U can't manage to outship more than weak sales consoles launched only in two regions (Japan and US).

Neiter the biggest Nintendo hater expected these numbers.

Edit - And the situation is to get even worst if the ASDA decision became a trend... they won't make more any order of Wii U this year.

Nintendo is trading down 5.5% today. I wonder how low it will go.

about that.  wont go down much more if at all.

I have a feeling it will keep dropping in the coming months.  5% today, but there is little reason to buy it for the next while.  I'd like to pick it up as low as possible.

N64 shipments are harder to gauge because it had a staggered launch in different territories. It launched in Japan in June 1996, but didn't launch in Europe until March 1997 for example.

From Aquamarine on Neogaf:

The N64 shipped 5.80 million total in:
1) 6 months for the USA
2) 9 months for Japan
3) 30 days for Europe

For its time, the N64 was actually I think the fastest selling game console. It was a monster out of the gates, but it faded because of the stupid cartridge only decision that choked the system away from having any third party support aside from like Acclaim.

In the coming months perhaps?  But it wont go much lower in the very short term  I think you missed the low boat an any event (last year).  I wouldnt be buying any no matter how low they go.

Yeah should've got in last year before Abe got re-elected and started devaluing the Japanese yen like crazy if you're the type that likes to short sell.
