Its gonna be fucked up if they only release a digital version of the game, gonna show gamers what direction MS is going with this generation.

You mean how the world is going digital and MS is merely following suit. Nevermind how most of X1s hyped games are retail based. And Sony pushing indie made games HEAVILY this gen.......you may have missed the memo that those would all be digital only as well.

Ofc indie games are gonna be digital what do you expect, they have no choice...Ofc not all of Microsoft's launch games are gonna be digital only, they will start with one and slowly start with more and more.  We are nowhere close to going all digital, not even close to half of software sales come from digital and for Microsoft to release one of their big launch titles as a digital only title shows they will try to push digital down our throats throughout the next generation wether you like it or not.  Sony has already said phyisical media will remain their primary source of software distribution.

You were saying?

That includes the money made from DLC, I was talking about the portion of sales that come from physical as opposed to digital for a particular game.

Physical media is clearly MS's choice as well, and you don't have to hearn a PR statement to know this. Its called experimentation, and until gamescom, best leave your wild predictions at the door until then

If you want to experiment with digital then you make the digital copy $50 and the physical $60 and see how the proportion of digital sales increases, you don't make digital the only option, basically limiting the number of sales the game will have.

If you can grind your way to buying characters, itll go a long way with fans.

If you just buy your few favourite characters for like $15-$20, and don't see yourself using the others, then that also is a good value proposition.

Either way, as someone who is used to F2P on tablets, this has to be approached delicately.....its like introducing the internet to a senior in the 90's :P

I find that to be a bad idea as Killer Instinct is pretty new after being out of the gaming world for so long, so it's hard to tell which character each gamer will actually enjoy and which best suits their skills.  Eventually, gamers will likely need to buy all the characters to test it out and make sure they didn't miss out on a potential good character for them to play.

I'm an advid Street Fighter gamer and everybody knows that each generation of SF all plays differently.  Sure Ryu has the same moves but doesn't mean that he's the same every time.  As well, I found that Akuma is my main fighter now, but that's only after I've played and tested every other character.

From a pros perspetcive, thats true, and I hope they do have an option to just buy the whole game outright. I was referring more to those who pick characters based on "cool factor" moreso then their move sets.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I understand what you mean and works well for the casuals/kids, as my nephew just picks Scorpion in MK just cause he's a ninja.

I feel that Killer Instinct will be a great addition to the competitive fighting genre so I hope they do release the full game so that when Evo comes, nobody will be at a disadvantage.
