Forums - Sony - Even retail PS4 will have max clock freq 2.75 GHz!

I don't know why anyone would Think the CPU would run on 2.7ghz when it clearly is too much heat packed into a Little Square box.

Other than that PS4 can't come soon enough, pre-ordered mine 2 weeks ago so hopefully this means a October release - we can Always hope!

It is max clock... not the real clock that the component will run.

I know that I just mean that people think this is the default clock speed which certainly wouldn't be the case fora home console especially after the heat problems in this gen

Edit: The operating temprature puts a stop to higher clocks during gaming - may appaer on individual cores similair to how TURBO BOOST works  -  because having a 5-35 C operating temp probably means that the console wouldn't feel so good if we excedded the double meaning 70 C which is pretty high.

More Info: PS4 Runs Cooler Than the PS3

"What is interesting is the tidbits of info the FCC registration coughs up. According to the registration, the PS4 will run at 5-35 degrees Celsius - which is fairly cool compared to the PS3's average of 45-55 (over 60 and you're at risk of the YLOD)."

"weighs approximately 2.8kg (the latest model of PS3 weighs 2.1kg, while the original fat PS3 weighs 5kg)."

5-35 degrees Celsius is pretty cooler.
