Forums - Gaming - A story that is better than The Last of Us, MGS, and bioshock

Every once and a while video games shocks the world with amazingly told stories such as the latest hit "The Last of Us."  It instantly became a phenomenon and went to the top of many people's favorite all time games list including mine.  Even then Metal Gear Solid has always held a place in my heart as the best told story of all time for me at least.  Even Persona 4 could not take that away from me even though I would mark it in my favorite games list as well.

It wasn't until today that I found a game that even remotely touched me the way Metal Gear Solid has and it is a title that will fly under most people's radars......"To the Moon".  This may be the best told story in my honest opinion since Metal Gear Solid 4.  It truly took me on an emotional ride that I wasn't prepared to take.  If you guys don't know what this game is please check it out and see for yourself.  It may not shock you graphicly like "The Last of Us" or win any awards for it's gameplay but the story alone is one of the best I have ever witnessed.

Here is a great song that also appears in the game.

What platform? What developers?

Me loves me some good story.

Oddly enough, I was talking about this game earlier:

Never even heard of it and yet it's 2 years old according to wikipedia. Beautiful music by the way. MIght get the game off steam eventually, as it's only £7.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I can't compare it to those games since I have only played BioShock, but To The Moon is a fantastic game and the greatest indie game ever made. So good. The story and characters are phenomenal.

^Don't overhype it! >_<
People shouldn't go in with amazing expectations. That will just ruin it.

The Greatest Indie Game of all time isn't really a remarkable achievement since there is no competition.

Still a masterful game though.

The helicopter at the end just touched my heart.

Jokes aside, I loved Xenoblade's story but I heard Xenogears has a better story.
